LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - One-hundred years ago Wednesday Imogene Pentecost was born. She is very popular at Eastman Estates in Longview. Everyone there has nothing but kind words about her, where they took time to celebrate her birthday with a party.

Imogene Pentecost was born October 6, 1910 and has only been retired 17 years. But, there were a few things that happened in between like teaching school right after she graduated high school in Fort Worth.

"Some of my pupils were older than I was," she said.

She married at 18, outlived three husbands and even has a few great-great grandchildren, plus, a whole lot of memories.

"I've seen the automobile come in," she said. "I've seen the telephone. I remember when World War I was over - 1918. I've seen TV come in. I've seen a lot."

Imogene has lived in East Texas for the past 35 years. Her party was also attended by a son, a daughter-in-law, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
