Anderson County man pleads guilty to drug trafficking

Released by the U.S. Attorney's Office/Eastern District of Texas:

TYLER, Texas – A 43-year-old Palestine, Texas man has pleaded guilty to drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today.

Kyle Edward Palmer pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine today before U.S. Magistrate Judge John D. Love.

According to information presented in court, beginning in January 2008, Palmer possessed methamphetamine with the intent to distribute to others in and around the Longview, Texas area. A federal indictment was returned on Oct. 7, 2009, charging Palmer and four other individuals with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

At sentencing, Palmer faces a up to 40 years in federal prison. A sentencing date has not been set.

This case is being investigated by the DEA, the ATF and the Gregg County C.O.D.E. Unit. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard L. Moore.
