CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Kroger is pulling boxes of Ochocinco's cereal after a phone number on the box to 'Feed the Children' is actually the number for a sex line.
The side panel of the box features an ad for 'Feed the Children,' an international non-profit organization that is receiving the proceeds from the sale of Ochocinco's. The ad features a website and toll-free phone number for Feed the Children. The only problem is the prefix is wrong, and the phone number takes you to a sex line with a seductive-sounding woman who makes risque suggestions and then asks for a credit card number.
The actual toll free number for Feed the Children is 1-888-HELPFTC. The organization delivers food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to children and families who lack these items due to famine, war, poverty or natural disaster.
Bengal wide receiver Chad Ochocinco released his new cereal earlier this month. The "honey toasted oats" cereal is manufactured by PLB Sports and sold exclusively at Cincinnati-area Kroger stores and online. A Kroger spokesperson says the store is pulling the cereal from its shelves until a decision is made by the manufacturer. The cereal is still available for purchase on PLB's website, www.plbsports.com.
