TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Xzavier is a boy that inspires love where ever he goes! He is looking for a forever family to help him overcome early challenges in his life.
Rolling over is a very big milestone for Xzavier. He has a diagnosis of shaken baby syndrome.
"Xzavier is a very vibrant and happy baby," said Triciana Jackson, with Child Protective Services.
A smile from the 15-month-old little fighter will warm your heart.
"He enjoys playing with most of his toys and he's a little more active now that he's one," said Jackson. "Overall [he is] a very loving baby. Just needs a happy family."
He loves playing with his rattle, reading books and singing songs.
"Xzavier does have some developmental delays and will have some physical limitations," said Jackson. "He will need a family that would be willing to spend as much time with him in a loving environment to take care of some of his medical needs."
He will need physical and speech therapy. Early Childhood Intervention Services is currently working with Xzavier to assess his developmental delays and they are helping him learn to roll over and crawl.
Though he has some issues with his vision and hearing, Xzavier appears to recognize voices both at home and at his daycare. He also responds well to gentle touches to his face, legs and arms.
While Xzavier is moving forward, all of these things combined mean Xzavier is still behind by several months.
"With Early Childhood Intervention, they have suggested about 10 months," said Jackson.
So instead of being on the same developmental level of other 15 month olds, Xzavier is currently performing on the 5-month-old level.
All the more reason that the little man needs lots of love from a family that can show him the gift of love.
