RUSK COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - JACKSONVILLE, TX (KLTV) - A Laneville 19-year-old has been arrested, police say, for shots fired near a Lon Morris student residence area two weeks ago. Authorities say the arrest was made early Monday morning.
Law enforcement officials say Brandon Dekerith Carey, 19, was arrested on two warrants after being pulled over for a traffic violation. He is charged with two second degree felonies - Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Deadly Conduct in a Gang Free Zone.
Carey could face anywhere from 2 to 20 years per charge and a fine of up to $20,000.
He is being held in the Rusk County Jail on a $40,000 bond.
