Man arrested for Rusk County sexual assault

RUSK COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Released by the Rusk County Sheriff's Office:

RUSK COUNTY, TX - On Monday, September 27, 2010, at approximately 2:45pm, suspect Gary Lynn Jones, white male, 42, of Henderson, was arraigned by Rusk County Justice of the Peace, Bob Richardson, Precinct 5, on charge of Aggravated Sexual Assault.  Jones bond was set at $35,000. Jones remains in the Rusk County Jail.

On Saturday, September 25, 2010, at approximately 2:12am, the Rusk County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the Western Region of Rusk County after a 911 call in reference to a Sexual Assault.

Once information was received concerning the incident, an investigation was conducted by the Rusk County Criminal Investigator Division. The investigation lead to an arrest warrant issued by Rusk County Court at Law Judge, Chad Dean, for the alleged suspect.

The suspect, a white male, 42 of Henderson, was arrested at approximately 5:30am and transported to the Rusk County Jail. The suspect was booked in the Rusk County Jail and charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault. The suspect remains in the Rusk County Jail awaiting arraignment.

Sheriff Danny R. Pirtle stated this type of crime will not be tolerated in Rusk County. The safety of the citizens of Rusk County is of most importance. When sexual predators comment such crimes, we will execute and pursue those suspects until they are arrested and criminal charges filed. The apprehension of the suspect in this case was a result of all divisions inside the department working together.
