LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man was arrested Wednesday after deputies reported that three children say he fired a loaded gun by them, in addition to other dangerous activity.

According to an arrest affidavit, three children, aged 13, 15 and 16, met with a deputy on Aug. 29 and said Geraldo Limon, 35, discharged a rifle twice "in close proximity" to them at their Angelina County home. The children said he pointed a loaded 22-caliber rifle at his own head and pulled the trigger. The children said they wrestled the rifle away from him and during that exchange, Limon fired it twice.

The children gave accounts of previous altercations with Limon on the same day. They said Limon threatened to shoot them if they did not get in the vehicle with him at Fairview Grocery on Airport Road. This came after he told them to park his truck and walk home, they said. They said Limon was intoxicated and they were afraid to ride with him. They also said Limon swerved his truck at them, causing them to jump in the ditch to avoid being hit.

A fellow church member brought the children to report the offense to authorities, the affidavit stated. All three children had been placed in foster care at the time the affidavit was signed, on Sept. 1.

Limon was arrested Wednesday afternoon. He is charged with endangering a child, a second-degree felony.
