Neil McCoy sponsors charity golf event and concert

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - It is time for the annual charity event sponsored by an East Texas country music star.

The 16th annual Neal McCoy Angel Network golf tournament and concert are scheduled for this weekend, with proceeds benefiting children in East Texas with debilitating or life threatening illnesses.

For McCoy, it is his favorite time to give back to his community.

"The most important thing is they're going to come and see a concert and be very entertained we hope," said McCoy. "That's our job. But, more important than that the more that they spend on a ticket is going to help children in East Texas in our whole East Texas area with illnesses or life threatening illnesses to help with expenses...and their families."

McCoy's golf tournament tee's off at 10 a.m. Friday morning at Pinecrest Country Club.

The concert is Saturday night at Lobo Coliseum featuring animal expert Jack Hannah and the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.

For more information and tickets, you can call the Neal McCoy Fan Club at 903-297-9000.
