East Side Locos Member Found Guilty

A member of the East Side Locos gang in Tyler was convicted of several violent crimes under the Rico conspiracy act yesterday.

23-year-old Lorenzo Howard, Junior burglarized homes and sold drugs and guns to fund gang activities. Evidence also showed he intimidated rival gangs and one witness testified Howard was involved in a Tyler shooting.

Howard was one of 14 East Side Locos gang members indicted by a federal grand jury in February under the Rico act, a statute created to allow the courts to attack groups that engage in a pattern of racketeering and organized crime.
