CHAPEL HILL, TX (KLTV) - After a week of gathering evidence, the crime scene tape is gone and Amanda Anderson's family is back in the home where their little girl was murdered.

For Amanda's father, Mark, the reality of his daughter's violent death is just setting in.

"I'm starting to think there's not going to be the wedding, there's not going to be her mom being able to go through her pregnancy together and expecting a baby and all the things you look forward to with your daughter," said Mark Anderson. "It's never going to happen."

Tuesday, he briefly walked through his home where his only daughter was gunned down. He says he did not notice a thing missing. He says he plans to take a closer look - anything to help authorities catch Amanda's killer.

"They kept that crime scene for almost a week," said Mark. "They are doing everything. They've had a lot of people there. They've had dogs there and they've told me they have evidence and it's building, but they won't share anything with me."

Just minutes, maybe even moments, before Amanda was shot and killed, Mark says he spoke to her over the phone.

"I think about that while I was on my phone with her whoever this was, was probably on my property," said Mark.

Not knowing exactly what happened and why is painful, he says.

"Every time I close my eyes, I'm reliving that and trying to imagine what possibly could have been," said Mark. "But, I can't get past wondering, if there was fear in my daughter's eyes. I don't get much past that and this has to carry on. There's going to be a trial. I'm going to have to look at pictures one day and I don't know. So this ugliness and the brutality of this is far from over for us."

He says he believes in justice and he will leave mercy to God.
