This is one of those weeks when I get to introduce you to our Community Spotlight organization, but this month KLTV's Community Spotlight is as much a movement as it is an organization. It also proves that you don't have to have a board of directors or a even a large donor base to make a difference. Only the compassion to identify a need and then the energy to meet that need. I am speaking of the Boot Campaign. You may or may not be familiar with the Boot Campaign or the founders – the Boot Girls, but this is a nationwide movement that has the mission of supporting the needs of active duty service men and women upon their return home. And let's face it, those that have served our country across the globe continue to deserve our support. Many of service personnel struggle with any number of issues and the Boot Campaign is there to help. The group raises money through the sales combat boots taking the proceeds and giving to the Lone Survivor Foundation and other charities. All of the Boot Girls are from Texas and several are from east Texas and through this no frills grass roots campaign they are starting to have an impact. You can learn more about the Boot Campaign here to see just how far reaching this movement is and how it all starts with the purchase of a pair of combat boots. The Boot Campaign, helping those that protect America and KLTV's Community Spotlight for September.
