BULLARD, TX (KLTV) - There was a Nascar star in Bullard Wednesday. Truck series driver David Starr was in town all day, speaking to students at the elementary and middle schools. Starr later signed autographs for fans, who could also check out his number 81 truck. You think cars can go fast, so can trucks.
"These trucks are like a brick going through the air at 185 mph," said Starr. "The cars were built for speed and the truck wasn't. But it's amazing, these trucks at Dayton, Talladega, you talk about Kansas Motor Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway, I mean were running speeds of 186, 187 miles per hour."
Starr and his sponsor WRL General Contractors were helping raise money for the Bullard Education Foundation, auctioning off tickets and pit passes to the next Nascar event at Texas Motor Speedway.
