CHANDLER, TX (KLTV) - CHANDLER, TX (KLTV) - A mis-marked gas line is being blamed for a gas line rupture that had parts of East Texas traffic at a crawl.
Highway 31 in Chandler was shut down for about two hours after a water crew ruptured a gas line around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, right in front of the post office.
Chandler Police say nearby businesses were evacuated. San Pedro's Mexican Restaurant and the post office will remain closed the rest of the day.
Witnesses say the leak caused the highway's asphalt to bubble.
