Gregg County motorcycle chase tops 130 MPH

GREGG COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - GREGG COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Speeds topped 130 miles per hour in a chase involving a motorcycle that took place Tuesday afternoon.

Multiple East Texas law enforcement agencies were involved in bringing the chase to an end at FM 2276 at Highway 349 in Gregg County.

Officials say the chase began at Loop 281 and FM 2087. An officer had tried to pull Andie Lee Elrod, 33, of Longview over for speeding, but Elrod fled south on FM 2087. The chase took place along a seven mile stretch and ended when Elrod crashed. He was arrested without incident. Officials say Elrod had a warrant out for his arrest on the charge of "Assault Causes Bodily Injury."

Law enforcement officials say they confiscating a meth pipe, a handgun and prescription meds.

The Kilgore Police Department, DPS and the Gregg County Sheriff's Department were all involved in the chase.
