TYLER, TX (KLTV) - TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The man who wants to be your next Agriculture Commissioner says there is a good chance you are being cheated out of your hard-earned money at the gas pump.
Democrat Hank Gilbert made a campaign stop in Tyler on Monday. He says that nearly half of all gas stations in Smith County inspected by the Texas Department of Agriculture were out of compliance. He said that based on what he is learned in other parts of Texas, you could be losing a lot of money.
"We have seen reports and instances filed in particular stations and particular pumps where people were getting gouged as much as $.13 a gallon," said Gilbert.
Gilbert faces Republican incumbent Todd Staples in November.
