Soccer Field Solution in Longview

Longview soccer enthusiasts may soon have an answer for an issue that was at the forefront of the Longview mayor's election. Longview leaders, including new mayor Murray Moore, have been trying to find a place that the greater Longview soccer association can hold their games for the next few years. The city council had discussed buying the fields at the old Strohs brewery; where they play now, but ran into a price tag too high for the city.

A possible solution has been found at the new Lear Park Sports Complex which the city owns, and plans to build soccer fields there. The Greater Longview Soccer Association is expected to play one more season at the Stroh's fields, while designs and building of new fields are in the planning stages.
