LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - It started as a church barbecue, but has become a 10-church tradition.
At New Life Church in Longview Monday, a Labor Day fair was put on. Organizers say the event is to help each church with their individual projects.
"Just to be able to come together and have a fun day with one another here, interacting, being together with games and food," said New Life Outreach Pastor Mattie Richardson.
"It's a great way to get the community together - to get them involved in what they're doing, church activities," said Alanna Richardson, with Prayer Temple. "The main thing is to lift up the name of Jesus."
Organizers say they are already planning for next year's fair, saying it will be bigger and better than ever.
