TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Tropical Storm Hermine will likely bring some much needed rain to East Texas. As of 8:30pm on Monday evening, she made landfall 40 miles south of Brownsville, Texas. Plenty of Gulf of Mexico moisture will wrap around Hermine's circulation and bring numerous showers and thunderstorms to East Texas, however, the hardest hit locations will be Central and Western Sections of North Texas...and of course the Rio Grande Valley. Flash flood watches have been issued for parts of south, central and northern sections of Texas where the heaviest rain is expected to fall. Rainfall totals for East Texas over the next 3 days should reach 1" to maybe as much at 2" in some of the heavier showers.
