Palestine doctor's license suspended

PALESTINE, TX (KLTV) - PALESTINE, TX (KLTV) - An East Texas doctor has agreed to have his medical license suspended after allegedly wrecking his car under the influence, while on call.

The Texas Medical Board suspended Dr. Alan Dale Shiller for nine months

Back in September, Shiller, who worked as an eye surgeon, drove his car into a utility pole in Palestine.

He was on call at a local hospital at the time of the wreck, and a toxicology report tested positive for barbituates, opiates, and PCP.

In addition to the suspension, Dr. Shiller will have to attend alcoholics anonymous meetings for 90 days.
