Hemphill family gives 'deer stand' makeover

SABINE COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - SABINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Hemphill family decided to play a trick on someone who had a playhouse-turned-deer stand on their lease by giving it a fresh coat of pink paint.

Tori Harley said one of the lease members was offered the former child's playhouse and he gladly accepted it. Other lease members joked that he should paint it pink.

Harley said she and her husband decided to make the joke a reality last Thursday by painting it pink.

"My kids and I gathered up all the cute stuff we could find around our house and headed back out there to go ahead and paint it for him," Harley said in an e-mail. "The next morning after dropping our kids off at school my husband and I went and hid in the stand with a video camera to get his reaction. Needless to say there was a lot of foul language in his reaction. After laughing, staring at it, talking about it and sending people pictures of it for an hour we finally cleaned everything back up so they could start painting it. So now it looks like a real deer stand!"
