It Can Save Your Life...And Its Free

Forrest Lowe loves to cook, and at 75 years old he's glad he still has the chance to cook; because 8 months ago he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

"You don't feel it. It could be eating your body up and you don't even know it, if you don't get the test," he says.

Mr. Lowe's doctors wanted him to get the PSA test done because of his family history with the disease.

"You see my two oldest brothers did not have the PSA tests. When they found it was too late. It was in their bones. It was horrible.

After Mr. Lowe's diagnosis, he got treatment and is now cancer free.

Mr. Lowe says if it weren't for the PSA blood test he might not be here today. So he serves up this advice for all men.

"If I were a man who had not had a PSA test I'd run down there and beg them let me have the test."

ETMC will offer free PSA tests all month long. You are eligible for the test if you are over the age of 50 or if you're over the age of 40 and an African American. You are also eligible is you have a family history of prostate cancer. And it must be more than a year since you last prostate test. To make an appointment for your test call 1-800-850-7050.

East Texas firefighters come to the rescue of angel tree kids. Big Sandy firefighters held two fund-raisers over the past week to help their local Angel Tree network. They collected enough donations to buy toys for 28 kids through the local group 'Agape House Ministries Angel Tree' coordinators.
