BULLARD, TX (KLTV) - UPDATE 09/03/10 - The boil water notice for the city of Bullard has been lifted.
BULLARD, TX (KLTV) - Water is flowing again in the City of Bullard, after an early morning water main break. The pipe broke near the Brookshire's just off 69, around 1:30 Wednesday morning.
City crews were able to repair the main, but classes at Bullard ISD and the Brook Hill School were canceled.
The city says the line was put in several years ago without a valve so there was no way to turn the water off.
"So we couldn't repair it...so we had to resort to turning the water off at the tower which shut the entire city down," explained Larry Morgan, the Bullard city manager.
A boil water notice is in effect for Bullard residents until further notice.
Bullard students are asked to bring bottled water to class Thursday. Students will have to go to school on Monday, Labor Day, to make up for the missed classes.
