Colton is an active boy who enjoys playing outside. This 11 year old is a loving child looking for a better life. He says, "I'm a good kid. I'm not a bad kid." Colton is a young boy who just wants to fit in. When asked where he got his face full of freckles he replies, "God gave them to me."
This 5th grader does well in Special Education Classes. He has lots of friends and enjoys school, especially reading. "He asks a zillion questions. He just has a thirst to learn and he likes that one on one time," says Andrew Plumlee, his Foster Dad.
Colton was removed from his home, in part, because of neglect. "He's had a very rough home and family life." Andrew goes on to say, "He was in an auto accident when he was real young. I think he told me he thought he was four and that left him with some brain damage." Colton has now spent months in foster care working through some issues and trying to advance his skills. "We've been working on helping him to learn chores. Since he's been at our house, he's learned to swim and he loves swimming. He also bicycles like crazy. And, he's gotten along real well with the other boys in the house," says Andrew.
Although moving to another home will be trying for this young boy, he looks forward to a forever family. He says, "Cause I'd love it. I'd love having a mom, dad, sister, brother. I'd love that." Colton is an obedient child, but will need constant supervision and a family with lots of patience. Andrew says, "I think they're going to have to be high energy parents and expect him to be a high energy son. He'll latch right onto them though and I think he could bring a lot of joy to the right family." Colton is hoping the right family will bring him the Gift of Love.
