ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Broaddus man was arrested Wednesday night after investigators say he stole $1625 worth of tools from an Angelina County man.

According to the arrest affidavit, a man told a deputy with the sheriff's department that his tools, including a chainsaw, drills and power trimmer, were missing from the property. The man said he had been out of town for the past four months and did not realize they were gone until he returned.

The man told the deputy that he had Rodney Delano, 55, do work for him around the house. So when the man returned home and saw the tools missing, he called Delano and asked him if he stole the tools. The man said Delano admitted that he stole the tools and apologized, explaining he needed money so he sold them to a pawn shop.

Delano was booked into the Angelina County Jail on a charge of theft. He was booked out Thursday after accepting a probation sentence, according to jail records.
