TJC votes to increase tax rate

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Taxes are going up after a unanimous vote by the Tyler Junior College Board of Trustees.

The tax rate is going up almost $.5 per $100 valuation. That means on a home valued at $125,000, taxes will go up by about $57.

A TJC spokesman says the money will make up for a decrease in state funding.
