Burglars target East Texas plant farm

VAN ZANDT COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Released by the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office:

VAN ZANDT COUNTY, TX - On Monday August 23rd, 2010 the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office responded to a burglary call at the Tawakoni Plant Farm.

It was reported that several trucks were broken into. One truck was taken from the property. The vehicle was described as a flat bed truck tan in color with no doors. The truck was used to move plants from one location on the farm to another. The report was taken and the vehicle was entered into TCIC/NCIC.

Later in the day one of the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office Investigators contacted the pilot for the Canton Police Department Helicopter and did a flyover of the area surrounding the Plant Farm in an effort to locate the vehicle. Within an hour the vehicle was located in a wooded area near the entrance to Holiday Marina.

A representative from the Plant Farm was contacted and advised of the location of their truck and regained possession of the vehicle.
