Two-a-Days Tour: Longview Lobos

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -    After two years as state runners up in class 4A, the Longview Lobos have moved back up to 5A.  Longview has to replace several seniors and over half their starters.  It's a group that helped lead the lobos to 27 wins over a two year stretch.

The Lobos expect the same kind of success come playoff time.  As head coach John King says, there are no excuses.  Coach King means it.

To remind his players, this years motto is N.E.N.E.

N.E.N.E. means, no excuses, no explanations.  The Lobos have bought in.

"At first everyone just thought it was a joke because we used to just say it all the time," said Defensive End Thomas Jones.  "We started taking in serious when he put it on the back of our shirts. We started knowing it's what he meant."

"We just came back up to 5A and we've got players that haven't played before that's going to get their chance this year," said Safety Joe Brown.  "They've got to step up so we don't need any excuses, we've all got to be a team and work together."
