Lindale ISD kicks off school year with pep rally

LINDALE, TX (KLTV) - LINDALE, TX (KLTV) - The kids have not arrived back yet, but that did not stop Lindale ISD from putting on a pep rally. They put on a convocation ceremony to get teachers ready for the upcoming year.

The ceremony also celebrated Lindale ISD's exemplary rating from the Texas Education Agency.

Teachers say they are already pumped.

"I'm very excited," said June Wright, a speech pathologist. "I feel that every year is a privilege to work with children and their families. It's always fun to look forward to what's going to happen. We don't know, but it's just a new set of kids coming through the door."

A familiar face to sports fans helped get the teachers worked up. Jimmy Johnson impersonator Roger Johnson delivered a speech to the teachers.

Representative Louie Gohmert also addressed the crowd.
