An East Texas woman is isolated after exhibiting symptoms associated with the Sars virus. The woman returned to East Texas, from Taiwan earlier this month. Of course, parts of Asia have been hit very hard with Sars. We're still working on some of the details, but here's what we know. The woman is from Lufkin, in Angelina County and is being isolated there in a family member's home.
Again, she had returned from Taiwan and began exhibiting symptoms similar to those found in patients who have contracted Sars or Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. She is being isolated, but the State Department of Health is contacting dozens of East Texas residents who have had contact with her. The investigation began over the weekend when the symptoms first started showing up.
Right now, the Centers for Disease Control is reviewing information the state has provided on the case and will determine whether to add it to the list of seven suspected cases already in Texas.
