Vandals hit little girls’ backyard pool

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police are trying to fix the broken hearts of five little girls whose backyard inflatable swimming pool was vandalized early Monday morning.

The girls' father told police that his daughters heard the family dogs barking.  When the father looked out the window to see what was causing the ruckus he saw two unidentified suspects standing in the backyard.  He said when the men saw him they ran.

The father told police he chased the men down the block but wasn't able to catch them.  When he returned to his house he discovered that his little girls' inflatable pool had been punctured and there's no way to fix it.

Police are trying to find the persons responsible for this heartless crime. The family wasn't able to describe the suspects because it was dark outside. The suspects are believed to be two men.  This criminal mischief occurred in the 700 block of McHale Street between the hours of 12:45 a.m. and 1 a.m. Monday, July 26.

Police encouraged you to call Crime Stoppers (936-639-TIPS) if you have any information to help them find the persons who deflated these little girls' summer fun.
