TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The Tyler Sonic Drive-In located at 5611 South Broadway has reopened for business. The drive-in returned to normal operations after getting the green light from health officials conducted an investigation Wednesday.

The inspection was in response to a customer complaint that a cranberry lime slush had made her violently ill.

"We go by what is the normal procedure the policy procedure - how do you make this product from scratch to finish?" explained Brenda Elrod, with the Northeast Texas Public Health District. "Where along that route could there have been a problem with an accidental cross contamination or an on purpose cross contamination? We don't know...but there are isolated incidents over the years."

We did ask to see the records of the health inspection that did cause the temporary closure.

Currently they are not being released as Tyler Police are still conducting an open investigation into the contents of the Sonic slush.

Health officials added the Sonic in question does not have a history of sanitation problems.
