Before you set out on the road this week you'd better remember to buckle up.
That's because officers are out in force looking for seat belt violators.
It's part of the statewide 'Click It Or Ticket' program.
According to the State of Texas there's a car crash every 101 seconds, and seat belts dramatically improve the chance of avoiding injuries.
One man caught without his seat belt says it just slipped his mind.
"I was in a hurry and forgot and I remembered when I saw the police. Took off in a hurry going to my storage. I was just in a hurry," says Jonathan Taylor.
The fines for not wearing your seat belt range from $25 to $200.
