Meth lab found next to school, 4 arrested

WINNSBORO, TX (KLTV) - WINNSBORO, TX (KLTV) - Four East Texans have been arrested in Wood County, accused of being connected to a meth lab right next to a school.

Heather McDaniel, Eric Gamble, George Foster, and Patricia Shirley are all facing drug-related charges, some of which have been raised because they were in a drug-free school zone.

Winnsboro police made the arrests Wednesday morning at an apartment complex on south Walnut Street.

The building is less than 1,000' from Memorial Middle School, and police say that is what makes this crime so heinous.

"They have no consideration for the children's lives or welfare...we've heard that this has been going on for a while," said Chief J.L. Miller, with Winnsboro Police.

In addition to the lab in the apartment, police found a mobile lab in a car outside, and more than 400 grams of meth.

There was also a 13-year-old boy inside. He is now in CPS custody.
