Tyler crime prevention officer receives Master Award

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Released by the Tyler Police Department:

TYLER, TX - At their annual summer conference held last week in San Antonio, Texas, the Texas Crime Prevention Association (TCPA) presented Officer James McCraw of the Tyler Police Department a Master Award for Outstanding Crime Prevention Specialist.

The TCPA Master Award specifically recognizes crime prevention officers from across the State of Texas who has made the greatest contribution(s) to crime prevention over the past year.

Officer McCraw, who is assigned to the Community Response Division, has been employed by the Tyler Police Department since 1995. He has been a member of the Texas Crime Prevention Association since 1998 and has also served on the East Texas Region Board since 2000 as Secretary. Officer McCraw has been instrumental in implementing numerous crime prevention and education awareness programs while assigned to the Community Response Unit.

The Tyler Police Department would like to congratulate Officer James McCraw on being the first departmental recipient to receive this Master Award from the TCPA.
