World Record Soap in Laneville

An East Texas group has come up with the latest Guinness book of World Records, the largest bar of soap ever made.

It took a crane and a freight scale to weigh-in the huge soap bar, scented of course.

A group of Laneville volunteers took almost a year to collect the ingredients. It weighed in at 17,800 pounds. That's over 8 tons! The idea was to raise money for the disease scleroderma, which claimed the life of the mother of one of the new record holders.

The groups considering another possible record making a giant lip balm.
