Gunmen on the loose after 2 shot, hospitalized

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

Released by the Longview Police Department:

LONGVIEW, TX - On July 16, 2010 at around 12:44 a.m., Longview Officers were dispatched to the Town and Country Apartments at 714 South Green Street for a report of a shooting that had just occurred.

Officers arrived and found that two men had been shot in the parking lot during a disturbance. 41-year-old Ramiro Perez and 39-year-old Artemio Castorena, both of Longview, were transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center by the Longview Fire Department/EMS with non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses told investigating officers that Perez and Castorena were in the parking lot of the apartments drinking with a group of people when they became involved in a disagreement with some other subjects in the parking lot. After the disagreement, two men produced handguns and shot Perez and Castorena. The two men then fled the location.

The suspects are described as:
1) Hispanic male, 5'5" to 5'6" tall, 200 pounds, 27 to 30 years of age, heavy build, wearing a dark colored shirt.
2) Hispanic male.

The suspects were possibly in a black, 1990's Chevrolet Truck.
