WOOD COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - An east Texas man accused of shooting a DPS Trooper is headed to prison.

Timothy Parmer is accused of shooting the trooper back in March, but Thursday's sentencing is for a probation violation.

That violation was the focus of a warrant being served by Wood County deputies, who called Larry Vaughn for back-up.

Trooper Vaughn was shot in the face while helping out.

Parmer has yet to be tried on an attempted Capital Murder charge for the trooper shooting.
