LINDALE, TX - Lindale Junior High School student Stephen Clemmons was one of ten top finalists in the 2010 Save Texas History Texas Travels Essay Contest sponsored by the Texas General Land Office. Stephen's essay edged out entries from over 1,450 seventh graders.

Seventh graders were asked to write the story of their favorite Texas city, big or small. Students wrote about the historical significance of the place they chose and gave reasons why they thought the community was important to the development of Texas. Stephen chose to write about Camp Wood, Texas.
