Eltife to chair Senate Administration Committee

AUSTIN - Lt. Governor David Dewhurst today announced the appointment of Senator Kevin Eltife (R-Tyler) as Chair of the Senate Administration Committee.

"Senator Eltife is a natural leader in the Senate and brings an experienced business perspective to the internal processes and operations of the Texas Senate," said Lt. Governor Dewhurst. "He will also preside over the Local Calendar in this new position, which oversees legislation of primary importance to Texas communities."

The Senate Administration Committee is responsible for the management and administration of the Texas Senate, including budgets, office space, and other business processes. During a legislative session, the committee is also responsible for preparing and hearing the Local Calendar.

"I appreciate the hard work and dedication of all of the 31 fine members of the Texas Senate. Each is deeply committed to ensuring a bright future for the people they represent in their respective districts and all of our state's 25 million citizens," said Lt. Governor Dewhurst.
