One East Texas police officer is back on the job after his close call in a robbery shooting last week. Eight year veteran Gladewater police officer Jason Weeks was wounded Friday as a bank robbery turned into a shoot-out, something all officers fear may happen sometime in their careers.
Weeks was firing at the tires of the suspects' car trying to stop them when he realized he was hit in the head. Though injured, he fired again to keep the vehicle from injuring other officers in its path.
For law enforcement officers, one moment may define their life on the force and they hope they'll be ready for it.
Weeks is back on duty after suffering a shrapnel wound to the head and 5 stitches.
