Teachers from all over East Texas took a day off from work to take a 'walk in the forest'.
It was part of a program from the Texas Forest Service that teaches teachers about wildlife.
Educators learned about bees, tree identification, and forest products.
The Texas Forest Service says the goal of this program is to give educators the skills they need to teach students about how the forest affects their lives.
"We have an opportunity to train the teachers here and give them the opportunity to come back at a later date and bring their classes or groups back out so they can teach their class or groups in the same environment that they learned," says Kevin Rankin with the Texas Forest Service.
Tuesday's ''walk in the forest'' is funded through grants and Eastman Chemical Company.
