A memorial service Monday gave officers the chance to honor all of those officers killed in the line of duty.
The ceremony took place on the front lawn at the Gregg County Courthouse.
A wreath was displayed for all twelve officers in Gregg County who died while on duty.
Officers say it means a lot for others to acknowledge their service and dedication to the community.
"Sometimes you don't feel like you get thanked enough so it makes you feel good to see the public come out and support you," says White Oak officer, G.W. Howard.
Since 1792 more than 16,000 officers have died while on duty in the United States.
