Scattered showers possible for the first half of July 4th weekend

Posted by StormTracker Meteorologist Michael Hetrick

Remnants of Alex will continue to soak Texas as we start the July 4th holiday weekend.  Moisture will continue to flow in off the Gulf of Mexico as well, keep clouds around.

Scattered showers will be possible in East Texas for Friday and Saturday.  High temperatures will be in the upper 80s with the clouds.  By Independence Day on Sunday, we will see a little more sunshine with rain chances slightly diminished.  Looks like any fireworks celebrations for Sunday night will be ok right now.

Looking ahead to next week, our summertime pattern looks to return as skies will be partly cloudy with afternoon highs in the low to mid 90s.  We will also have a slight chance of an afternoon shower as well.
