Mistaken identity leads to arrest

At approximately 12:10 this morning, July 1, 2010, a man assumedly mistook 3 off duty Tyler Police Officers as subjects he had an earlier disturbance with, and approached them to continue the disturbance. 

The officers were jogging in the 200 block of E Ferguson when the subject approached them on foot yelling at them about how they had started a fight with the wrong individual, and began to curse them and approach them aggressively, wanting a physical confrontation.  

Three officers identified themselves as police officers, produced badges and attempted to stop the man from assaulting them. At this point, the subject produced an open pocket knife and informed the officers that he did not care if they were officers and advanced on them with the open knife.  

Officers responded by producing a firearm, at which time the subject dropped the knife, surrendered and was arrested.

Arrested and placed in Smith County Jail for three counts of Aggravated Assault was Chip O'Neal Osario w/m 09-03-1987
