LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - A man and woman are found dead in a Longview apartment Thursday morning and so far, no suspects have been named.
The gruesome discovery was made 9 a.m. when police were called to a garage apartment in the 100 block of Myrle Avenue.
The only thing police do know is that the deaths of a man and woman found inside this apartment appear to be suspicious - foul play is suspected.
"We don't have identities of the victims at this time," said Brownlee. "We don't have cause of death. Although, it is suspicious in nature."
"A woman [was] screaming," said John Dorsey, a neighbor. "Sometimes when the gunshots ring out, it's loud like it's next door."
The deaths appeared to have occurred in the past 24 hours. Neighbors say they heard shots fired around 5 a.m. and then they heard a vehicle speeding away. An important piece of evidence was left behind. A car's license plate was found in the front yard, believed to be off of the vehicle that sped away.
"The main focus right now is in interviewing whatever witnesses," said Brownlee. "Crime scene investigators are doing their own investigation and they're going to proceed from there. Whether or not they have suspects, I do not know. I do know that this location, 128 Myrle Street, is well known to police. We've been here numerous times."
Gunshots are something the neighborhood has gotten used to hearing.
"There's gun shots every day," said John Grubbs, a neighbor. "Just the other night I was walking down the road and sounded like there was a gun shot 10 feet away from me...It's just the same thing every day people getting shot dying."
So far, the identities of the victims have not been released. Also, police have not yet mentioned any suspects.
