Roads back open after ammonia leak in Tyler neighborhood

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Roads are back open tonight near the site of an ammonia leak in Tyler.

Tyler Police and the Tyler Fire Department were called around 6pm Wednesday in the area of Oakwood and Palace Street.

Assistant Fire Chief David Schlottach says the fumes came from the Tyler Public Warehouse.

He says the warehouse uses ammonia for their refrigerator system. Workers had been working on the system earlier, but authorities say they are not sure what lead to the leak.

No evacuations were ordered.
