SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - It was a 7 on Your Side investigation that may now be easing a severe case of road rage for one Smith County neighborhood.
Residents on the south side of Tanya Drive have not been getting their mail delivered for nearly two weeks now.
This month's heavy rains left the road with huge cracks and breaks, and neighbors wondering, who's responsible?
Our investigation revealed the road, and several more like it were never taken into the county's inventory leaving the residents holding the bag.
Tuesday morning, a Smith County commissioner stepped in to help those residents in getting the repair ball rolling.
"We will do whatever we can do to help them here at the county," said Joann Hampton, Smith County Commissioner, Precinct 4. "I'll have a road engineer come and let them know how much it'll cost to bring the road up to standards, and we'd work with them in anyway that we possibly could."
We have also set up a link to the Smith County application for county road maintenance. Click here for more information.
