LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - Preparations in Longview are being made to help people beat the heat.
The Longview Fire Department has responded to six heat-related injuries since Saturday.
Longview officials say if you start feeling over-heated, immediately get out of the heat. If symptoms don't improve, contact authorities.
"We actually put ice in an ice chest, and we carry extra ice packs, instant ice packs, that we can crush, and instantly start cooling the body of the person with a heat related injury," said Johnny Zackary, with the Longview Fire Department.
Longview fire departments also suggests limiting your outdoor activities to morning and evening hours.
