Mother, daughter arrested after black tar heroin found in car

WINNSBORO, TX - Officers from the Winnsboro Police Department made a traffic stop Sunday evening that led to the arrest of a mother and daughter for drug possession. Sandra Kay Henson, 42, and Lacey Henson, 25, both of Winnsboro, were found to be in possession of a large amount of illegal drugs and were subsequently arrested by Cpl. Shirley Amerson, Officer Heath Guy, Reserve Officer Randy Parrish, and Capt. Rod Hashaway during the traffic stop. Both women were charged with the following:

• Manufacture or Delivery of Methamphetamine, Over 4 Grams, Under 200 Grams;
• Manufacture or Delivery of Cocaine, Over 1 Gram, Under 4 Grams;
• Manufacture or Delivery of Black Tar Heroin, Under 1 Gram.

Sandra and Lacey Henson were both transported to the Wood County Jail where they are currently awaiting arraignment on these charges.

    A man was killed in a one-vehicle wreck in Harrison County. According to a press release, a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling eastbound on US-80 when the vehicle went off the south side of the roadway and struck a tree. The driver of the vehicle is identified as Lawrence C. Walls, 49, of Marshall. Walls was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Mike Smith. His body was transported to Meadowbrook Funeral Home.
