TYLER, TX (KLTV) - This year's Juneteenth parade seemed to be one of the biggest, in Tyler.

It was June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Galveston with news the Civil War was over and that all remaining slaves in Texas were free.

Saturday's parade began on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd and traveled down North Border, ending at Woldert Park.

The Juneteenth celebration continued with live music and a community picnic.
